A native of Maryland, I come from a large family of seven children. I currently live in Clarksburg, Maryland with my husband John where we settled after living in Kuwait and Jordan for several years. We were blessed with two beautiful children, Carly and Sam. I studied Graphic Design at UMBC in Baltimore, MD. On my artistic journey I have been a Technical Illustrator, Paste-up Artist, Art Director for two different retail companies, Mural Painter, Drama Set Designer/ Painter and an Artist in Residence in Montgomery County Public Schools. However, nothing has been more fulfilling than my explorations in Printmaking. I first fell in love with Printmaking while taking a college Intaglio course back in the 80’s. I have spent the last few years at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland rediscovering Intaglio and other forms of Printmaking. I especially find the process of Intaglio fascinating, the way the metal plate sparkles when you have etched the image, just right, and the magical moment that comes when you lift the blankets off the printing press to reveal your image for the first time. I enjoy Printmaking because it offers endless possibilities for experimentation; my husband often calls me a mad scientist because I work with a magnifying glass and can be found mixing colorful baths of acid to etch my plates! As you explore this site you will discover a diverse range of content in my work. However, what all my prints have in common, is that they are tethered to my heart, through my life experiences and relationships.
